About Marisa
Marisa

Hello! I’m Marisa, an avid reader who loves discovering books, exchanging books, discussing books… basically everything to do with books. Nothing gives me more joy than a great read, and I started this blog in hopes of paying that joy forward and helping someone else find an awesome reading experience. Think of me as your friendly book scout, keeping your TBR list fully stocked!

Some fun reading-related tidbits about me:

  • I majored in English literature in college and took as many courses on Jane Austen as possible
  • Whenever I find myself in a reading rut I read Nora Ephron’s I Remember Nothing, and it makes me excited to read again, every single time
  • Thoughtful, character-driven novels are my favorite, but I’ll read anything in any genre, from romance and fantasy to essay collections and memoirs

For each book featured on the blog, I’ll give you a short synopsis, a few words on why I loved the book, and three comparative book titles to give you a good frame of reference. I’m a strong believer in “you don’t have to finish your plate” reading, which means if a book isn’t feeling like my jam after a few chapters, I’ll put it aside for another time or find someone else who might like it. Because I only finish books that I’m enjoying (for the most part), all the reviews you’ll find here are more recommendation and less critique. Also, I try to read organically, finding books through friends, podcasts, reviews, and bookstore serendipity, so you’ll find a nice mixture of new releases and older titles.

I’m so grateful to have you here — thanks for stopping by, and happy reading!
